History of The ACCAs

Three years ago, we were looking for a way that would allow us to give back to the community in an engaging way. We wanted a way to showcase all of our wonderful member’s incredible talent and output, thus the idea for an award show came to us. In June of 2020, the first semi-annual ACCAs ceremony took place, marking the birth of a cornerstone in AC’s future. It started small, but the production would go on to increase in popularity within the community’s core member-base as time went on -- and as the community itself grew.
Six months later, with an increased budget for visuals, the first and last December ACCAs Ceremony took place. With a larger turnout and thus an increase of instability with the live aspect of the ceremony, we had to make a decision. We realized that putting on a live performance wasn’t sustainable with the rate at which the community was growing.
And so in June of 2021, the first pre-recorded and pre-edited ACCAs Ceremony took place. The increased budget and production allowed for a longer, more intriguing production that captivated the community -- with nearly double the turnout of the first ceremony. We realized, however, that in order to sustain the quality of the ceremony, we’d need to move to an annual schedule as opposed to the semi-annual one that we’d been using for (at that point) three ceremonies.
As it stands now, the 4th Annual ACCAs Ceremony was the most thrilling and large-scale production yet. The two hosts Ian and Bodie met to film the ceremony in person on a dedicated ACCAs set. The three hour ceremony featured 6 performances from community musicians.
The ACCAs returned this June for their 6th installment.
